Hello. I'm having trouble understanding the solution to a problem. I'm unsure if their are infinitely many solutions or if there is no solution.

The are infinitely many solutions.
xeR means that any value of x will satisfy the equation. In other words, the solution does not depend on x.
If you look better at the two questions in the system you will notice that the second equation -2x+18=8y is actually the first equation x+4y=9 multiplied by -2.
