Why is the 10 negative

Answer provided by our tutors

Whenever you multiply or divide an inequality by a negative number, you must flip the inequality sign.

In the following inequality

-x < 10

we multiplied both sides by (-1) to change the signs of both sides of the inequality.

This also means that the inequality sign will change from '<' to '>'.
