Anytime two fractions are being added [or subtracted], the first step will be defining a least common denominator so that the fractions are converted into a single fraction.  Clicking on a particular solution step is the quickest way to review a particular solution step and it can be helpful to increase the number of solution steps by clicking on the 'Options' tab and selecting 'a lot of steps'.  Most solutions are best reviewed from 'a few steps' and then increase the number of solution steps when the additional information is helpful.
