To solve or graph an function it should be entered without the functional notation because syntactically "f(x)" is equivalent to "the variable f multiplied by the variable x, in parentheses". So to simply graph a function within a new worksheet, replace "f(x)" with a single variable, such as "y".

I would expect that the intent is to graph the function unless solving for 'x' is needed.  If your problem contains no equals sign and you wish to simply an expression then please select one of the tabs for 'Simplify', 'Expand' or 'Factor'. Since your problem contains an equals sign then please select the tab for 'Solve' or 'Graph'.
