I can't seem to fine how the answer 14 has came about

Variables are all "moved" to the left side of the equation, all numerics are "moved" to the right side. Any final division on the left side is used to isolate the variable. In the final step, '-x=-14' is made positive by dividing both sides by -1, leaving x=14.
