I don’t understand why this software cannot simply find what the X intercept and minimums are.

Hello,

x intercept is found by making y in this equation equal to 0 and then solving for x. However, if you look at the graph you will see that is not necessary because the graph does not cross the x-axis (hence no intercept).

At this time our software can not find minimum and maxmum of arbitrary functions - this is a topic most often covered in calculus, not basic algebra
