I need help finding the domain, range, at least five points for this equation x=(y+2)^2.

Answer provided by our tutors

much can be determined by examining a graph and many tools in Algebrator can be even more appropriate for domain and range topics;  a free trial version is available here:

Windows: http://www.softmath.com/tr/alg51win-tr-en.exe

Mac: http://www.softmath.com/tr/alg51mac-tr-en.dmg

in examining the graph it is clear that the domain is [0, inf} since no negative values exist in the graph

also, to identify five specific points, replace 'x' with some value greater than or equal to 0, as in {0, 1, 2, 3, 4} and solve for 'y', as in "1=(y+2)^2", this will populate the (x,y) pairs - it is also clear in the graph how these values are easily see by reviewing the graph
