Factoring can be best approached by selecting the 'Factor' tab.  The image appended to this shows a random example.  The random example was created by pressing the 'Example' button.  Specific explanations about a solution step can be obtained by clicking on a particular step and then the logic is provided (one of the specific example steps is also appended).
