If the answer is to the factorization is the same as the expression, does that mean that it can't be factored?

Yes, that expression is not factorable. ...not really any way to simplify it unless you want to factor out 'x' from the first two terms into "x(8x+7)-2" or factor out '2' from the 1st and 3rd term into "2(4x^2 -1)+7x".
