like your muliplying the right side by x and the left side by 2 cubed - but WHY. EXPLAIN WHY AND HOW YOU GOT THOSE!!!! what are yall doing...

We are adding the fractions and since LCD for "2x" and "16" is "16x" we have:
and then multiply both sides by "16x" and is the end we have quadratic eqaution:
The solutions for the quadratic eqaution are:
x1 = 0
x2 = -8
x1 = 0 is not a solution for our equation since it is not in the domatin of the eqaution ("1/x" will not be defined for x = 0), so the only solution is x2 = -8.
