On a graph line...Graph the line whose y- intercepts is -1 and whose x-intercept is 6

I have no clue how to do this

Answer provided by our tutors

First we need to write down the equation of the line whose y-intercepts is -1 and whose x-intercept is 6.

This means the line goes trough (0, -1) and (6, 0).

The slope intercept equation of the line is:

y = mx + b, m is the slope, b is y-intercept

So, in this case b = -1 and m = (0-(-1))/(6-0), that is, m = 1/6

The equation now is:

y = (1/6)x - 1

Click on 'Graph', type 'y = (1/6)x - 1' into Algebrator, and click 'Solve':
