The correct answer to this problem should be 3
-6*-6= 36
36 + 5(-6) - 3= 36-30-3 = 3
But the answer I received was -69.

It is not -6 * -6, it is -6*6
'-' is not under the exponent.
In order for it to be calculated the way you wanted it, you would need this expression (-6)^2
