What does it mean when a term changes signs when moved to other side of equation

We need to move all the variables on the left side, and all the constant terms on the other (right) side of the equation.
So, actually we are adding '(-3)' to both sides of the equations in order to lose '3' on the left side of the equation (since +3 - 3 = 0):
