Why is -38 if 3 goes to the right side as a negative and it's 32

In the vast majority of simplifications I encourage users to select 'a few steps' and then increase the number of steps when the additional steps are helpful. For this particular inquiry, however, 'a lot of steps' is helpful in order to dissect how subtracting -3 from both sides resulted in -38 rather than positive '32'. To control the number of solution steps then use the 'Options' tab.
